Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Law School seeks an innovative leader, advocate, and relationship-builder to serve in this newly created role. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are central values of UW Law, as evidenced by the broad array of identities, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives embodied in our faculty, staff, and student body. These values are also at the heart of our newly adopted strategic plan ( https://law.wisc.edu/about/mission/ ), with three of our nine priority areas and multiple initiatives focused on DEI. We seek a new assistant or associate dean to take the lead on these strategic initiatives, support other units within the Law School in pursuing their DEI goals, and drive these efforts forward throughout the Law School. The new assistant or associate dean will report directly to the Dean, working collaboratively as part of our leadership team and with the UW Law community to advance DEI in everything we do.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

JD or other advanced degree strongly preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least three years' experience working in higher education preferred. The successful candidate should have a track record of success in advancing equal justice under law and the capacity to develop a relationship of mutual trust with our diverse community, especially our students.
