Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a Technology Specialist for the Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions (NASNTI) STEM (Part A) Grant. The Technology Specialist is a full-time, 12-month, professional staff position with excellent benefits. This position is part of a 5-year federally funded grant focused on Agricultural Sustainability and Technology, which was awarded in October 2020, and provides experience working with underserved populations in emerging areas of STEM and Agriculture. Areas of potential emphasis include: UAV/drone technology, agricultural automation, robotics, aquaponics, vermiculture, greenhouse technology, and pyric herbivory, and alternative energy applications.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and deliver college-level courses in Agricultural Sustainability and Technology
  • Conduct outreach within the agricultural and scientific communities
  • Assist in daily/routine operations related to ongoing Agricultural Sustainability and Technology initiatives and projects
  • Assist in student recruitment, retention, and engagement
  • Engage with the work team in managing projects, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Conduct field-based research and data collection
  • Explore new areas of potential instruction within degree and certificate programs
  • Contribute to the success of students and the overall grant program

What we’re looking for:

  • Graduate degree in Agriculture, Technology, Science or a related field
  • Team player who is also able to work independently
  • Experience and content knowledge in one or more of the targeted areas of emphasis
  • Lifelong learner willing to research and learn new technologies and content material
  • Experience developing and/or delivering instructional materials at the secondary or college level
  • Familiarity with the role of community colleges
  • Familiarity with unique challenges of underserved populations
  • Federal grant experience preferred
