Portland Community College is accepting applications for an HR Specialist I – Recruitment to join our Human Resources department at PCC’s Downtown Center.

This role is a critical member of PCC’s Recruitment team, often acting as the initial contact for applicants and potential candidates with Portland Community College, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of our job postings.

In addition to performing some office duties in support of Recruitment, and occasionally other HR teams, the HR Recruitment Specialist I responds to applicant questions and issues, creates job postings in applicant tracking system (MyCareer@PCC / Cornerstone), coordinates the pre-employment criminal background check process, coordinates candidate travel and advertising invoices, processes hiring paperwork for temporary assignments, and assists with recruitments (including preliminary review of candidate pools and assisting management with basic recruitment questions and processes).

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year experience in either a human resources area or customer service

Preferred Qualifications

  • Human Resources support experience
  • Experience working with confidential information and/or sensitive situations

Position Grade D Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $42,886 to range mid-point of $52,535. Placement generally will not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $42886 to $62184 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office environment, with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Frequent reaching, sitting, walking, and standing may be required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job. Background Check Required Yes
