The Department of Physical Therapy is looking to hire a post-doctoral fellow to assist with a newly funded 4-year research study to develop a measure of prosthesis awareness for use in persons with limb loss.

Responsibilities include:
The individual will be primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the project under the guidance of study PI. The individual will be responsible for collection and analysis of participant data and assist in dissemination of project results. The individual will assist in supervising a Graduate Research Assistant and will be responsible for assisting with additional research activities including maintaining Human Subjects approvals and coordinating with the Research Study Coordinator and clinical staff to identify and schedule participants.

Required Qualifications

-Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
-Must have completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a health-sciences related discipline by July 1, 2021.
-Excellent writing skills required, as evidenced by publications or grant‐writing experience
-Must possess strong self-motivation, problem-solving ability, and open communication.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working with individuals with lower limb loss.
-Experience developing and conducting survey research
-Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
