Job Description:

The Department of Admissions at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Admissions Counselor. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, expectations include serving as a member of the first-year student recruiting team and working to promote and enroll students in support of College enrollment goals and the mission of the College.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated recruitment and admissions team, committed to serving students and their families as well as colleagues with the highest standard of customer service. Duties include but not limited to: managing a specific recruitment territory of our prospect/applicant pool; representing the College at on- and off-campus and virtual recruitment events; serving as primary liaison for school counselors, agencies and educators in assigned markets; developing relationships with prospective students and families; conducting large group presentations and student interviews; reviewing and evaluating applications; managing multiple projects successfully as needed in a time sensitive environment;� utilizing analytical thinking, creative problem solving skills, listening skills, multi-tasking skills, and attention to details; working evenings and weekends; and traveling for extended periods of time.


Requirements:

Required qualifications: bachelor's degree; demonstrable written communication and presentation skills; computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Office Suite; a valid driver's license; ability to work evenings and weekends as well as travel for extended periods of time.�

Preferred:�� prior experience in college/university admissions, advising, counseling or marketing; experience working in a CRM system or similar electronic communications system; previous experience retrieving, interpreting and utilizing data/reports; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
