Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Research Officer/Research Officer (holding the title of Project Manager) at the Research Hub on Institutions of China in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 504342), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline with at least three years of relevant full-time experience. Applicants should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and the ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Experience in building networks with the local and global research community, mass media and public/private sectors is highly desirable. Familiarity with university administration and outreach will be an advantage.

The appointee will be expected to coordinate the administration of large-scale research initiatives through collaboration with colleagues within the University and beyond. He/She will help build and monitor the research team to deliver high quality research outcome effectively. He/She will also work closely with the Director of the Research Hub to develop and implement strategic research plans, liaise with local and international scholars for events and conferences, train and supervise junior administrative staff, coordinate educational and training programmes, and perform other assigned duties. Outstanding candidates with higher qualification and/or more work experience may be appointed as Research Officer.
