Position Summary:

This position provides technical support to the daily operational needs of the Radiology Section of UW Veterinary Care (UWVC). The position requires advanced technical skills, independence of action, and initiative to coordinate and follow-through with technical responsibilities. Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. independently and physical and manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

1. Demonstrate advanced skills in several modalities within the radiology area (i.e. CT, nuclear medicine, MRI); responsible for maintenance of special equipment, instructing others in use and care, and assisting clinicians/students with procedures
2. Anticipate needs of clinicians/staff/students during procedures
3. Oversee, guide, and instruct students and clinicians in the area of diagnostic nuclear medicine studies and the aftercare of veterinary patients undergoing these studies
4. Contributes to and participates in team-building by assisting in problem-solving activities

Degree and Area of Specialization:

AART Certification Required

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. required.
Cross-sectional imaging preferred.
Experience with large and small animal handling preferred, but not required.

License or Certificate:

AART Certification Required

Additional Information:

This position is being posted at Entry Level, Objective Level and Advanced Level.
Entry Level candidates have less than one year professional diagnostic imaging experience in 2 or less modalities.
Objective Level candidates have at least 2 years professional diagnostic imaging experience including at least one cross-sectional modality.
Advanced Level candidates have at least 5 years professional diagnostic imaging experience including at least three modalities, including cross-sectional.
