Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Title: Graduate Admission Counselor- Business Programs

Department: Admissions

Reports to: Chief Enrollment & Retention Officer

Status: Full-time, benefit eligible

Position Summary: The Marketing and Recruiting Professional is responsible for the recruitment of all business graduate students (masters and doctoral) and coordinating the marketing strategy for all graduate programs in the Goodwin College of Business. While reporting to the Admissions Office, this position works in close collaboration with the Goodwin College Dean, program directors, and department chairs to develop and execute the marketing and recruiting strategies. The professional regularly meets with the Goodwin College Dean, program directors, and staff and is an integral part of the Goodwin College community.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment of Masters Students – Serve as the main contact for all prospects and applicants interested in all masters business degree programs. Proactively recruit students through communications and presentations at sites and formats aligned to the recruiting strategy appropriate for each degree program. Communicate effectively with each prospect and applicant to develop a professional relationship enabling each prospect and applicant to fully understand each degree program, its career advancement potential, application and admission requirements, and assist each applicant through the admissions process. Working closely and in collaboration with the Admissions Office, the Goodwin College Dean, program directors, department chairs, and staff.

2. Recruitment of Doctoral Students - Serve as the main contact for all prospects and applicants interested in business doctoral degree programs. Proactively recruit students through communications and presentations at sites and formats aligned to the recruiting strategy appropriate for each degree program. Communicate effectively with each prospect and applicant to develop a professional relationship enabling each prospect and applicant to fully understand each degree program, its career advancement potential, application and admission requirements, and assist each applicant through the admissions process. Working closely and in collaboration with the Admissions Office, the Goodwin College Dean, program directors, department chairs, and staff.

3. Marketing and Communications Strategy and Implementation – Work collaboratively with Admissions, the Dean and the marketing team to assist in the development of the marketing strategy for each graduate degree program; review and revise the strategy on an annual basis. Execute the strategy including prospect and applicant recruiting (as defined above), effectively communicating through social media, web pages, webinars, in-person events, email, and other appropriate channels. Work collaboratively with university marketing and admissions in the development of all marketing and communications materials for the graduate business degree programs. Ensure all web and marketing materials are accurate and meet all programmatic and university requirements.

4. Data Analysis & Goal Setting- Work with the Chief Enrollment & Retention Officer along with the Dean of the Goodwin College of Business to provide data-based evaluation of the efficacy of recruitment strategies. Assess effectiveness of targeting strategies and communication channels for prospective students and applicants.

Other Functions:

1.Respond promptly to prospect inquiries across all university implemented communication platforms.

2.Attend all appropriate Goodwin College and university meetings.

3.Other responsibilities assigned by the Dean of the Goodwin College and approved by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:



Education: Master’s degree in business, related field, or area appropriate to execute responsibilities.

Experience: 3-5 years of student recruiting experience preferred; experience in marketing and communications preferred.

Specific Skills: Proficient in written and oral communication and delivering presentations; proficiency in social media and ability to manage program web sites (or demonstrate ability to learn and master these tools); work independently; maintain confidentiality; demonstrate a high level of professionalism; multi-task with numerous areas of responsibility; ability to work collaboratively; ability to proactively identify and react to problems; work in a team environment; ability to resolve conflicting committments; effective time management and organization skills. Proficient in technology used and supported by Benedictine.Salesforce and Peoplesoft experience recommended

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Candidate must be goal oriented. Must be personable, outgoing, and professional in demeanor. Must be an excellent communicator (both oral and written) and possess excellent public speaking skills. Must work collegially with university faculty and staff across Benedictine University and the Goodwin College of Business. Candidate must be comfortable with measurable outcomes and a metric driven position.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Use of computer screen, phone and customer service. May require bending, or sitting for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel (If applicable): Regionally to various recruitment events/meetings

Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): Leads, guides, and evaluates all staff and student workers directly assigned to assist in marketing and recruiting graduate business students.

Working Conditions: Office environment, some travel
