The Assistant Director of Admissions Experience will be responsible for providing families calling or visiting Embry-Riddle on campus, or at one of our events, with the best experience possible by providing the highest level of customer service in a dynamic, interactive and exciting way to our prospective students and their families.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide excellent customer service to our students and their families by hosting admissions presentations in the Admissions Visitor Center, answering one-on-one questions for all students visiting, following up with calls and cards to families visiting, and ensuring students and families feel cared for and appreciated prior, during, and after their visit.
  • Assist the Director of Admissions in the planning and shaping of the overall experience for families engaging with Embry-Riddle in other venues not on campus such as accepted student receptions, open houses, preview days, and prospective student presentations.
  • Work with different departments, faculty and staff to communicate and learn about resources, projects, innovations, careers and more of our current students to ensure the most current and relevant information is being provided to prospective students and their families.
  • Maintain and answer emails that come to the main Admissions email accounts.
  • Gather information to remain current on University programs, national admissions trends, standards, and policies, financial aid opportunities, and industry trends, specifically within the aviation industry.
  • Provide reports to the Director on Visit Trends and event statistics.
  • This position will require some travel time away from the office. May work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Hire, train, and supervise student assistants and oversee the admissions phone room.


This position is located in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to deal positively with the public using good public relations skills.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with others.
  • Self-motivated and self-assured.
  • Capacity to see projects through to successful completion (i.e. follow-up).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet the University’s standards for approved drivers. Unacceptable driving records (as stated in the Use of Equipment and Vehicles Procedure 1.17) include the following (for three years from the date of each occurrence):
    • More than 3 moving violations and/or accidents in 3 years
    • More than 2 moving violations and/or accidents in any 1 year
    • A major conviction in the last 3 years, including (but not limited to) driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and/or homicide or assault by motor vehicle.
  • Willingness to support co-workers in their assigned territories as needed, to include, but not limited to travel and presentations.
  • Analytical skills with knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of admissions or related experience preferred.
