Job Summary
The Auburn University Libraries is seeking candidates for the position of Outreach Programs Administrator in the Innovation and Research Commons (I&RC). Reporting to the Research Support Librarian, this position will develop, plan, and deliver outreach programs, onboarding workshops, and orientation materials to accomplish goals and objectives including communication, education and patron assistance for all of the service areas in the I&RC. The service areas include Makerspace, DataSpace, Extended Reality Space, Adobe Creative Space, Audio Studio, Technology Lending Space, and Liquid Galaxy.
This is a two year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.
Essential Functions
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
1) Develop web-based orientation materials for each of the I&RC’s seven service areas. Meet with each area leader to define needs. Develop and maintain website related to specific activities, projects or services.
2) Develop and organize on-boarding workshops for each of the areas. Coordinate and organize training programs. Collaborate with Library faculty and staff on outreach and campus engagement programs.
3) Produce documentation (e.g. basic user manuals) for each of the I&RC’s seven service areas.
4) Develop promotional programs and materials for distribution to target audience.
5) Coordinate and organize tours of the I&RC.
Education Level
Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Field of Study
Degree in a relevant discipline such as Graphic Design, Media Production, Technical Writing.

Entry into the applicant pool for Level II requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services.
Estimated salary range for Level I is $38,000 – $47,000. Estimated salary range for Level II is $42,000 – $50,000.
Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience.

Experience working in an academic library
Working knowledge of or experience in ONE OR MORE of the following areas:
Technology hardware basic troubleshooting, including but not limited to: PC and Mac desktop computers, laser printers, large-format inkjet printers, flatbed and large-format scanners, and other digitization equipment; Adobe Creative Cloud applications; Statistics and data visualization software, e.g. Excel, R, SPSS, SQL, ArcGIS, Tableau, etc.; Programming languages, e.g. Python, C, C++, C#, Java, shell scripting, machine language, etc.; Engineering software, e.g. SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD; Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) hardware; Audio recording equipment and software; Video recording equipment and software; Additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and 3D scanning; Sewing machines, fiber arts, and textile work; Basic electronics and circuit board design, soldering, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi.
