Position Summary:
The Sergeant supervises the activities and assigned duties of patrol level police officers. These functions will also include the protection of life and property, preservation of the peace, furnishing of various services to enhance and support efficient operations within the university community.


Minimum Education:
High school diploma or GED, Associates
Degree or with at least 60 semester hours of college level work or satisfactory equivalent law enforcement experience or training.


Minimum Experience:
Knowledge: High school diploma or GED, Associates
Degree or with at least 60 semester hours of college level work or satisfactory equivalent law enforcement experience or training.

Experience: Minimum of three years law enforcement
experience.
Requirements for Police Officer 1
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Citizen of the United States of America.
• Qualifies for acceptance for Kentucky Law Enforcement Council basic police training program and/or certification as a police officer under Kentucky Statues.
• Persons that qualify for police officer certification under Kentucky Statue and are graduates of the Police Basic Training program may be given preference.
