The applicant will be teaching classes in the new undergraduate
program that commences in Fall 2021. These will be literacy classes
and, if qualified, Digital Literacies and Learning (DLL) classes.
The Reading Department has committed to teaching embedded service
learning classes in our partner schools, so applicants must be able
to teach during the day.Since this is a fully face-to-face program,
and reading courses are usually offered in the morning, applicants
must be available to teach during the day. Applications from ABD
candidates will be considered provided the individual has extensive
teaching, coaching, reading specialist or language arts coordinator
experience. An earned doctorate in education with an emphasis on
elementary reading or a closely related field is preferred.
Additionally, a Michigan Teaching Certificate with the Reading
Specialist endorsement is advantageous.Candidates must have three
years of experience teaching in public elementary schools.
Candidates must demonstrate experience with, and a commitment to,
diversity and inclusion.Candidates should have experience teaching
university classes in Literacy.Candidates must demonstrate
