The Assistant Dean should bring a dynamic, strategic vision to continually improving and better positioning the Programs and, in turn, the College. The Assistant Dean is responsible for all programmatic phases of the Programs, including developing and disseminating program information, recruiting and screening applicants, managing the admissions process, and academic advising and counseling of students. In this connection, the Assistant Dean will collaborate regularly with other leaders in the College, including the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and the College’s communications team. May spearhead implementation of newly developed certificate programs; liaises with Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives on these programs.

The responsibilities of the Assistant Dean may include: teaching the required legal writing courses in the LL.M. and/or M.S.L. Program; identifying opportunities to proactively position the LL.M. and M.S.L. Programs and increase awareness of their academic excellence and community outreach through the development of external networks (for the LL.M. program, this could may include two to three international trips per year); advising and assisting designated Faculty Directors of Oxford University summer and semester programs, including assistance with recruitment and admissions; providing advice and consulting to faculty interested in incorporating international focus and perspectives into their research or teaching; administering the Foundations program (an online program designed primarily to prepare prospective and incoming LLM students for matriculation at the College); interacting with the University’s Office of International Affairs as a representative of the  Moritz College of Law; administering application and selection process for visiting international scholars; and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of and 5+ years of experience with the law. J.D. is preferred. Experience with programs for working professionals and/or international students is a plus, as is program development experience, which could include a combination of creating and disseminating program information, recruiting and screening applicants, managing the admissions process, and counseling students.
