  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One (1) year experience in education, counseling, human resources or related or related area.
  • Or equivalent combination of Master’s degree with part-time graduate experience in field intern or assistant.
  • Minimum qualifications can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Preferred qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals who possess:
• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, or related field
• Three (3) years’ experience in a college/university setting
• Experience in career services
• Experience preparing and facilitating workshops, coordinating large programs/events
• Experience designing co-curricular programs that are outcomes driven
• Evidence of strong administrative skills including organization, budget management, supervision, and follow up
• Experience with diverse populations
• Evidence of job acquisition skills
• Evidence of experience with CRMs & job databases
• Two (2) years experience in a community college setting

Work Hours

Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

Compensation The annual base salary begins at $48,956. A competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary

This is a standalone classification. Incumbents support students and alumni in choosing and attaining employment, and work with employers to develop effective college relations programs. Major duties and responsibilities include: providing job readiness services for current students and alumni such as assessing individual skills, education and interest, determining content for workshops and classroom presentations, and providing one-on-one trainings; establishing partnerships and maintains communication with faculty/staff/administrators, employers and community members; coordinating and organizing events including job fairs, on-campus recruitment, employer panels and interviewing sessions; preparing and maintaining records and reports.

Typical Essential Duties

• Provides services to enhance alumni and students’ job readiness; work may involve providing information and resources; assessing individual skills, education, and interest; planning and preparing content for workshops and classroom presentations; and planning and providing one-on-one training and coaching sessions.
• Develops college relations programs to facilitate effective candidate selections for organizations; work may involve planning and developing programs and processes; coordinating and organizing events, to include job fairs, on-campus recruitment, employer panels, and interviewing sessions; and frequently coordinating with students and employers.
• Coordinates with faculty, staff, administrators, employers, community members, and other internal/external personnel, departments, and/or agencies to establish partnerships, communicate information, and facilitate other departmental operations.
• Coordinates operations and activities of the career services office, to include ensuring adequate staffing levels; managing the office budget; developing promotional materials; and updating documents related to policies and procedures.
• Coordinates activities and operations related to on-campus and community service employment; work may involve connecting students with campus supervisors; evaluating work eligibility; conducting orientations; and submitting documentation to appropriate personnel, departments, agencies.
• Prepares and maintains reports, records, and other documentation to ensure timely and accurate documentation, and compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures; work may involve utilizing online systems and databases to maintain and update documentation; researching, compiling, and analyzing data; and making recommendations based on findings.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Physical Requirements

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Incumbents may be expected to travel.
