TThe social media and multimedia specialist is a key member within the Office of Communications and Public Affairs in the creation of social media and multimedia content and the administration of the Bowdoin College social media accounts.

The focus will be two-fold: Conceptualizing and producing engaging social media content, in partnership with the digital community manager, that supports the College’s external messaging priorities and working with department team members to produce digital content for other channels, especially video

Education/Skills Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Advanced technical ability with preparing and optimizing materials for social media, and the College’s website.

Advanced technical ability with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other professional design tools.

Must be a fast creative talent who moves efficiently through the phases of creative development while ensuring appropriate input along the way.

Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities, anticipate demands, communicate status appropriately, and maintain a high level of operational transparency and accountability.

A demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment is required.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

A minimum of two years of experience in digital content creation, including conceptualization, video editing, writing, graphic design, and visual asset creation.

Scanning and working with digital photography.

Videography and video editing knowledge.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Typically Monday thru Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. This is an exempt level position and requirements the time commitment necessary to fulfill all of the job responsibilities.
