The Department of Neuroscience in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment for Academic Year 2021-2022 at the rank of Professorial Lecturer. The appointment is a 9-month term position with possibility for renewal and will commence on August 30, 2021.
The position will require the applicant to teach two undergraduate courses each semester (fall and spring) in basic neuroscience, with specific competencies in teaching Behavioral Neuroscience with lab and Neurobiology with lab, and serve as general laboratory manager for the neuroscience undergraduate major.
All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in School and University activities and service. Salary is competitive.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a closely related field and should have teaching experience in the neurosciences, as well as strong organizational skills and proficiency in developing and executing laboratory curriculum and pedagogy.
