Surgical Pathologist, Uniontown Hospital

West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, Anatomy & Laboratory Medicine (PALM) seeks a Surgical Pathologist qualified for appointment as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor to provide professional pathology services for Uniontown Hospital, a member of the WVU Health System. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Pathology Services for the WVU Health System and is expected to work collegially with the Director of Pathology Outreach Programs, the Vice Chair of Anatomic Pathology at West Virginia University and other pathologists who are part of the WVU Health System.

Duties: The successful candidate will serve as the CLIA Laboratory Director at Uniontown Hospital, located in Uniontown, PA, and as such will be responsible for providing regulatory oversight and maintaining the quality of pathology and laboratory services at Uniontown Hospital.

Qualifications: Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain state medical licenses. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology. Training and experience providing surgical pathology (including frozen section intraoperative consultations) and laboratory professional services are required. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

About the Department: WVU PALM is a rapidly growing department consisting of faculty in AP, CP, Translational Pathology, Anatomical Sciences and Medical Laboratory Sciences. Clinical AP services are committed to Digital Pathology and are supported by state-of-the-art ancillary testing.
