The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Washington College invites applications for a full-time two-year position (with possibility of renewal for another year, depending on curricular needs and performance of the selected candidate) of Visiting Assistant Professor of French to begin in August 2021.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated effectiveness in and commitment to undergraduate teaching, and native or near-native proficiency in French and English. PhD in French (or related field) in hand is preferred (ABD considered). They will be expected to teach courses in French and on Francophone culture at all levels of the program; perform curricular and administrative work of the French program; support program-related co-curricular activities. The area of specialization is open and we particularly welcome candidates with interdisciplinary interests.
