The Division of Academic Affairs encompasses a wide array of activities and functions that ensure the overall academic quality of the institution. This includes providing administrative oversight and academic leadership for: the College of Business Administration; the College of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities; the College of Science and Health; the School of Education; Murphy Library; Admissions; Records and Registration; Financial Aid; Career Services; Academic Advising; University Graduate Studies; Extended Learning; the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; the office of Undergraduate Research and Creativity; the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning; Institutional Research; and International Education & Engagement. Academic Affairs also provides leadership and support to the nearly four hundred full-time faculty and instructional academic staff, 73 percent of whom hold terminal degrees. Through its various functions, the Division of Academic Affairs supports students in the pursuit of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education as well as scholarly activity.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Education, Professional, and Continuing Education ( EPC ), a successful applicant will serve as the coordinator who leads and supports the implementation and reporting of the education teacher performance assessment (edTPA) for all teacher preparation programs, as well as additional outreach efforts with our school and community partners. The edTPA is the culminating pedagogical assessment that is part of a multiple measures assessment system designed to evaluate the readiness of teacher candidates to teach in their prepared area within the range birth – grade 12. The position requires collaboration and coordination between School of Education (SoE) faculty, students, and staff, as well as community/school partners and national support teams. The successful applicant will also identify, initiate, and support outreach efforts with school and community partners.

Required Qualifications

-Master’s degree in an education-related field
-Teaching experience in PK-12 schools
-Experience in the planning and implementation of professional development
-Familiar with current state and national education initiatives (i.e., edTPA, standards-based instruction, DEI, etc.)
-Evidence of strong leadership and collaboration skills
-Knowledge in curriculum design, assessment, data analysis, and intervention practices
-Strong technology skills

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working with higher education
-Experience working cooperatively across PK-16 community
-Knowledge of Professional Development Schools ( PDS )

Development and Implementation of Professional Development and Outreach Programs

Duties to Support Responsibility

• Lead efforts that support faculty, staff, university supervisors, and cooperating teachers with preparing teacher candidates for success on the edTPA, implementing the edTPA and other assessments, as well as other technology related tools (e.g., GoReact, etc.)
• Lead efforts that support teacher candidates in successfully completing and submitting the edTPA through various touch points throughout the program, most frequently during student teaching by developing and facilitating a number of dedicated sessions that guide them through the completion and submission process.
• Collaborate with the EPC Assessment Coordinator to analyze and report related data and lead data retreats as appropriate
• Identify opportunities for collective impact and collaboration with school and community partners based on a needs assessment/feedback from constituents that aligns with goals for ongoing learning and continuous improvement.
• Work with the Dean to prioritize school and community collaborations based on resources.
• Coordinate and support opportunities for professional development sessions from initial planning stages through evaluation.
