Theatre and Gallery Coordinator
The Theatre and Gallery Coordinator at Penn State Altoona provides enhanced direction, facilitation, and visibility to arts programming at Penn State Altoona and the surrounding Central Pennsylvania Community.
The Coordinator anticipates and facilitates programmatic needs in the performing and visual arts and collaborates with faculty, staff, students and community. The Specialist produces and supports arts offerings to diverse audiences with a wide range of art experiences. The Specialist provides support for college and community programming and coordinates rentals, special exhibitions, facilities, scheduling, and marketing.
The Coordinator assists in the scheduling and coordination of over 70 events annually in the Misciagna Family Center for the Performing Arts, including college administrative events, student and faculty projects, community arts and other non-profit programming. Working hours will include some evenings and weekends, determined by scheduled events and activities in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. - Facilitation and coordination of all campus performances in
theatre, dance and music
- Facilitation, coordination, installation of all campus visual
arts exhibitions
- Facilitation and Coordination of all community use of
performance and art spaces
- Facilitation of additional academic and university sponsored
performances/events
- Timely communication with Office of Strategic Communications to
support promotion and marketing of all arts events
- Participation in division programming and administrative
functions
- Supervision of work study students, part time staff, and
temporary production technical staff
- Coordination and scheduling of reservations and events in
Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts Building and other
campus arts spaces
- Coordination of Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts
Building and other campus arts spaces safety protocols and
Environmental Health and Safety Arts documentation and
reporting
- Participation in faculty searches, safety committees, gallery
committee, division executive committee, senior capstone project
consultations, production meetings, and other college committees as
deemed necessary
Typically requires a bachelor's degree plus 2 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional years of experience beyond level 2 are required, and a master's degree is preferred, for a level 3.
Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
