Position Overview:

Assist social scientists in research efforts including subject observation, surveys, data/questionnaire response collection, coordinating participant consent.

College/Department Overview:

Travel to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Seat Belt Usage Survey. Travel to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Child Restraint Survey. Travel to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Motorcycle Helmet Use Survey. Complete all data entry sheets and turn in all deliverables by August 17, 2018. Re-survey any suspect data.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

The University of Central Oklahoma has a research contract with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office to complete a Highway Safety Observation Study. This study will include: a Seat Belt Survey, Child Restraint Survey, and Motorcycle Helmet Use Survey. The Field Observer will be hired for approximately five weeks for training and to collect data for this study. All travel will be in the State of Oklahoma. Travels to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Seat Belt Usage Survey. Travels to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Child Restraint Survey. Travels to various locations in Oklahoma to observe and record data on Motorcycle Helmet Use Survey. Completes all data entry sheets and turn in all deliverables by deadline. Re-survey any suspect data. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Experience Required:

Performs administrative or manual tasks. Typically requires general education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Preferred:

High School Diploma College experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Statistical analysis experience Field data collection experience preferred Good organizational skills Excellent typing and computer skills
