Position Summary:

The Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Professor (Tenure) will be in the Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine and Public Health at University of Wisconsin - Madison and will be responsible for clinical and translational research related to allergic diseases, asthma or immunology, provide patient care, and teaching to a variety of learners.

Principal Duties:

- The majority of the position will be devoted to the development/maintenance of an independent research program. Protected time will be provided with an expectation that the candidate will either come with extramural funding or procure it within the first 3 years of employment.
- Provide patient clinical care.
- Perform independent research and obtain extramural funding.
- Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.
- Participation in department, School of Medicine and Public Health and University meetings and committees is an expectation.
- Participation in governance of the department and service to the University and scientific community will also be expected as appropriate to academic rank.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or equivalent required

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completion of US pediatric residency and fellowship programs. Interest in clinical or translational research and academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential. Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.

License or Certificate:

WI medical licensure, BE/BC in pediatrics required

Additional Information:

Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
