FULL-TIME VISITING FACULTY POSITION IN CREATIVE WRITING

The Department of English at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites outstanding applicants for a 10-month, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor position in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences starting July 31, 2021. 

We are seeking candidates who are strongly committed to high-quality teaching and student engagement in a primarily undergraduate, residential, liberal arts-centered institution. The successful candidate should be able to teach Introduction to Creative Writing (both poetry and fiction writing), Topics in Creative Writing (any genre), and a 300-level Fiction Workshop.

The successful candidate should be an active, published fiction writer, have an M.F.A., demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a strong commitment to the education of undergraduates. Teaching responsibilities will include four courses per semester.

About the Department of English

The English Department has 17 full-time faculty members and serves approximately 500 majors. We offer degrees in English Liberal Arts and English Secondary Education, and are a strong partner with the School of Education providing dual degrees to a number of programs, including Urban Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We also offer minors in Creative Writing and English as well as participate in interdisciplinary minors in Comparative Literature, Linguistics, US Studies, and Social Justice. The English Department additionally houses an MA program that serves both recent graduates and students across the state. Our faculty are nationally and internationally recognized scholars, creative writers, and fully-engaged teacher-scholars.
