The HR Business Partner will provide support to the Senior HR Business Partner team. The incumbent will provide guidance and counsel to School, College and Administrative Unit leaders and their teams. The role requires the HR Business Partner to be organized and proactive in providing the support necessary for the SR HR Business Partners. Qualified candidates will have knowledge of current best practices in many of the following areas: employee relations, organizational development, performance management, recruitment, retention, staff development for employees, supervisors and faculty, workforce planning, benefits, and compensation.

Qualifications

A four-year degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related fields is preferred.

Degree requirements may be substituted for an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience. SHRM - SCP, SPHR, or similar certification is desired.

Preferred candidates may have an advanced degree and experience working with faculty, research staff and higher education.

Job Specific Qualifications

Preferred candidates for this role will have at least four years of progressive HR experience.

Must possess strong organizational skills

Strong project management experience.

Skills in building and maintaining effective work relationships with the ability to counsel and advise a broad array of constituents at all levels of the organization.

Excellent judgment, problem solving, customer service, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills.

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and sophisticated reasoning skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitive and confidential matters with tact and discretion.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate a working knowledge of the University and take a consultative approach in anticipating, assessing, and providing creative HR solutions to unit leaders and Sr. HR Business Partners. Assist in implementation of solutions and tracking successes and areas that need further improvement.

Participate in strategic reviews with Sr. HR Business Partners and leadership to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention. Assist in implementation of retention strategies.

Develop ways to track details for turnover, training and development, employee relations and various other HR related topics. Create dashboards to support Sr. HR Business partners in recognizing areas of excellence and improvement.

Provide consultation to leadership by partnering on moderately complex employee relations matters, HR processes, procedures, precedents and initiatives integrating appropriate centers of excellence ( COE ) partners as necessary.

Administer consistent review and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Manage and recommend dissemination of communications to senior leadership and employees. Support Sr. HR Business Partners in ensuring consistency of communications through the University Units.
