Job Summary
This position is responsible for event management for university and external constituents at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill. This person will oversee the Center’s event management processes and coordinate facility details to ensure successful events. This position requires extended night, weekend and holiday hours.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: coordinates and manages details (security, grounds, facilities, housekeeping, parking, audio/media, volunteers, etc.) and vendors (caterers, lighting technicians, equipment installers, staging, entertainment agencies, etc.) to organize, plan, coordinate and execute events held at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill; coordinates submission of event details through the AU Event Management System and AU risk management processes; oversees all details related to internal and external contracts and invoices, as well as providing on-site support for a day of event and assistance with set ups, diagram of event space, catering, and parking assistance; promotes Pebble Hill as an event space to university departments and and external clients, as well as a unique university asset for visitors interested in the history of Auburn and state of Alabama.

Minimum Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of event planning best practices.
The ability to think strategically with excellent leadership, business, organizational and management skills; demonstrated ability to maintain successful interpersonal relationships with all contacts while representing the College of Liberal Arts; ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a team; ability to resolve complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to analyze issues and provide resolutions are also essential.

Desired Qualifications
The desired candidate for this position will possess experience in large group event planning as well as experience in budget planning and management. Past marketing or sales experience and strong experience in event planning, public relations, or hospitality are highly desired.
