Job Summary
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is seeking a Producer/Director to plan, script, produce, record, direct and edit video, and/or multimedia materials to support the program content and promotional needs of Alabama Extension.
Essential Functions
The work will occur in both a studio environment and in the field. The primary responsibility will be to create, film and edit video features for educational use and for marketing and promotional use. This position will be responsible for all areas of the production process including (but not limited to) filming and editing video for broadcast television, YouTube and other video platforms, creating complex computer graphics, animations and special effects, and completing other post production services including color correction and audio sweetening.
Other responsibilities include serving as talent for narration and voice-overs and providing quality control of video production processes including (but not limited to) monitoring and improving the technical quality of the product, the speed of delivery, and product reliability. The position will also provide creative input and design as well as technical design for video and other multi-media productions and will participate in projects and cross functional activities related to technical and creative needs of other projects within the department.
Some travel may be required.

Level III – Bachelors Degree and 4 years of experience in managing media projects to include producing, directing, and scheduling.
Salary Range: $51,900 – $86,400
Level IV – Bachelors Degree and 6 years of experience in managing media projects to include producing, directing, and scheduling.
Salary Range: $59,700 – $99,600

Minimum Skills and Abilities
The selected individual must possess the ability to work effectively and in a positive manner while providing excellent customer service, have excellent communication skills and diplomacy, and the ability to work in a team environment. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States by the start date and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
Additionally, this position requires:
- Handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds as well as walking and standing.
- Ability to carry video production equipment, including camera, tripod and light kit.
- Possess standard English-speaking voice suitable for video and audio narration.
- Ability to drive department vehicles and rental vehicles for long distances (alone or with other department staff members) to perform job responsibilities.
- Ability to work after-hours if necessary in order to meet deadlines.

Proficiency and experience using high-definition video cameras and DSLR cameras for video acquisition as well as audio recorders, microphones, and light kits. Proficiency and experience in using Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud especially Premiere, After Effects, motion graphics and animation, Photoshop and Audition as well as other video and audio editing software. Proficiency and experience in production planning, script writing, and project budgeting as well as video color correction and audio sweetening. Experience as narration talent. Understanding of current and evolving media technologies. A working knowledge of agriculture.
