Program Coordinator

 

Coastal Carolina University seeks candidates for the Program Coordinator position in the office of Intercultural and Inclusion Student Services (IISS).  The Program Coordinator is a full-time position and serves as a member of the Intercultural and Inclusion Student Services Team reporting directly to the Director of Intercultural and Inclusion Student Services.   The Program Coordinator will work in an office setting as well as various environments across campus and must be available to work evenings and weekends during peak times of the year.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong decision-making,  organizational and facilitation skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to build relationships, with a commitment to work as part of a University-wide community. The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate understanding of the unique needs of under-represented/marginalized student populations and a commitment to working with diverse student populations to support their academic and social integration into the institution. 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: the development and execution of programs and activities that support the goals and objectives of the office (Cultural Celebration, Cultural Heritage Months, Chants Chats, and other large- and small-scale programs); working with students, faculty, staff, and administrators; organizing and managing budgets; consulting with vendors and office partners to ensure programmatic success;  cooperating with Intercultural and Inclusion Student Services colleagues in formal and informal problem solving; maintaining and upholding the Intercultural and Inclusion Student Services mission and vision; engaging with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion division colleagues in meetings, events, and programs; interacting with families of students seeking information or guidance;  and educating students, faculty, staff, and the broader community about Intercultural and Inclusion Student Services programs, initiatives, and events; and other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and related experience is required. A master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field are preferred. At least two (2) years of relevant experience in intercultural programs and services in an educational setting and direct experience with programming in a university setting, along with demonstrated knowledge of universal design and a social justice framework are also preferred.
