About the Opportunity:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions Recruitment, the Associate Director of Admissions will collaborate with admissions leadership to design and implement an effective national outreach and recruitment strategy for prospective freshmen students within the United States. The recruitment strategy will include: analyzing past travel data and application information; benchmarking current recruitment activities with peer institutions; proposing and implementing new recruitment initiatives; and interacting with cross-university departments to support the work of admissions. The incumbent will leverage an understanding of University enrollment goals to developing the domestic recruitment strategy. S/he will collaborate with the Senior Associate Director for International Admission to find opportunities for greater synergy and efficiency in planning and executing recruitment. S/he will collaborate with the Director and Dean in proposing a recruitment strategy.

Responsibilities:
As a territory manager, traditional responsibilities include: travel to attract and subsequently enroll freshman; develop and implement targeted programming efforts and activities; manage a territory throughout the admission cycle; evaluate freshman and transfer applicants for admission; counsel and advise students and families regarding the admission process; conduct interviews and presentations; and establish, develop and maintain relationships with guidance counselors and transfer advisors while marketing the University effectively.

This position includes the direct supervision of three to four Assistant Directors of Admission. The incumbent will be engaged in long-term planning and evaluation, as well as resource assessment and management. The Associate Director serves on the office management team and assists in developing and implementing office policies and procedures. The position serves on campus-wide committees and represents the University to prospective students, families and secondary school counselors. The position also actively contributes to the office welfare by working collaboratively with managers in unit to achieve institutional enrollment goals.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in college admission. Masters preferred.

  • Strong supervisory, interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • A thorough understanding of the new student recruitment process

  • Experience working with diverse populations

  • Demonstrated understanding of admissions technical systems.

  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented, programming experience preferred

  • Knowledge of higher education issues related to recruitment, admission and enrollment of students.
