The School of Social Work in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for (1) full-time, benefits-eligible, 12-month Lecturer position on the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus to begin August, 2021.


Lecturers are fixed-term, non-tenure track faculty members with the possibility of year-to-year employment at ASU based on continued excellent performance, the needs of the institution, and availability of funding. The responsibilities for this position are primarily teaching, but may include field liaison. The teaching load for this position is 4-courses fall semester and 4-courses spring semester, and includes both online and face-to-face classes. Lecturers also have an expectation of service to the school, college, university and community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the ASU School of Social Work Online program
  • Teach graduate courses using a variety of modalities such as in person, online and hybrid
  • Grading and assessment
  • Curriculum development
  • Service contributions to the school, college, university and community.

Required Qualifications

  • An earned master’s degree in social work from CSWE accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-MSW social work experience
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level


Desired Qualifications


  • PhD in Social Work or related area
  • Previous experience as a Program Coordinator, Field Supervisor, Field Liaison, or Academic Advisor
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
