Under general supervision reporting to the Residency Program Director, the Community Pharmacy Resident fulfills a one-year residency in drug information practice and is responsible for providing extensive guidance to developing practitioners to prepare them as Community Pharmacy Specialists in the fields of academia, pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy administration, clinical pharmacy practice and others.

Essential Duties Summary

• Weekly Pharmacy staffing at SJC Pharmacy
• Responds to community pharmacy inquiries
• Prepares the Community Pharmacy Center Newsletter for on-line publication
• Teaches assigned Pharmacy classes
• Precepts APPE and IPPE Pharm.D. students on drug information rotation.
• Conducts residency research projects
• Publishes a drug or therapeutic class review in a peer-reviewed journal.
• Conducts pharmacoeconomic, medication use and outcome evaluations and quality improvement projects
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Attends national and regional professional pharmacy meetings
• Assist in the recruitment activities

Hiring Range $41,976.00 - $52,470.00 Education

Doctoral degree (Pharm. D.) from an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education ( ACPE ) accredited college/school of pharmacy.

Required Licensing/Certification

Registered Pharmacist or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Texas.
