Job Summary

The School of Nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applicants to apply for a full-time, non-tenure-track, clinical instructor faculty position at salary commensurate with experience.  The nursing program is offered year-round; faculty are given a 9-month academic appointment with potential to work a bonus semester. Positions are available at the Tyler  and  Longview campuses. Review of applications will begin immediately, and the positions will remain open until filled.

 

 

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Primary teaching of on-site nursing courses, conducting clinical experiences for BSN students on either the Tyler campus or the Longview campus.
  • Assisting other classroom faculty as needed.
  • Mentoring and advising students.
  • Participating in College and University Service.

 

Minimum Required Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, preferably in nursing education.
  • Clinical nursing experience.
  • Currently eligible for Texas licensure.
  • BSN teaching experience preferred.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
