Position Summary
The Learning Services Program, a program for freshmen with learning disabilities, is looking for a part-time Counselor for the academic year. The Learning Services Program Counselor provides academic counseling and disability accommodations in one-on-one weekly meetings to students with learning disabilities and possibly other disabilities. Training and supervision will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications Including Education
- Master’s degree in education, counseling, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities and ADHD and the accommodations process
- Experience providing one-on-one academic support services
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the developmental issues of college students
- Academic Counseling experience
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and writing skills
Start Date/Expected Hours of Work
- The position is expected to be 15 to 20 hours a week, and starts in late August.
Salary
- $25.00/hour
