Part-Time Learning Services Program Learning Support Specialist

Position Summary

The Learning Services Program, a program for freshmen with learning disabilities, is looking for a part-time Counselor for the academic year. The Learning Services Program Counselor provides academic counseling and disability accommodations in one-on-one weekly meetings to students with learning disabilities and possibly other disabilities. Training and supervision will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications Including Education

• Master’s degree in education, counseling, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities and ADHD and the accommodations process
• Experience providing one-on-one academic support services

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the developmental issues of college students
• Academic Counseling experience
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and writing skills

Start Date/Expected Hours of Work

• The position is expected to be 15 to 20 hours a week, and starts in late August.

Salary

• $25.00/hour
