Job Summary

Auburn University Housing and Residence Life is seeking two candidates for the position of Coordinator, Area Housing (Area Coordinator). This is an exempt, full-time, 12-month, live-in position. The Area Coordinator oversees one or more of the six residential areas.

Essential Functions

The Area Coordinator coordinates and participates in the daily operation of a residential area to include, student conduct and advising, community development, emergency response (on call for one week about once a month), facilities and maintenance needs and related administrative duties, and programs which support the success of all students.

This position directly supervises between two and four graduate assistants and indirectly supervises up to twenty Resident Assistants.

This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Residence Life.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Work related experience in housing and residence life or student affairs. Experience in residence life as a graduate student; an advocate for students; experience with administrative resolution of student conduct cases; having an understanding of how to build a welcoming, safe and inclusive residential community; work with Honors College students and Residential Learning Communities, and appreciation and understanding of trends in student development and student learning.
