The College of Business Administration is one of four colleges at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The CBA consists of six academic departments and one non-academic department, the Small Business Development Center.

Position Summary

As a faculty member, this person is expected to have high professional and ethical standards and to be able to perform as an excellent teacher, researcher, and service provider. A person in this position is responsible for teaching undergraduate/graduate courses in information systems security, data management, business telecommunications/networking, business analytics, enterprise systems, healthcare information systems, and additional courses across the information systems curriculum (e.g., project management, cloud technology, systems analysis). The Information Systems department offers an Information Systems major and minor, a minor in Business Analytics, and participates in a joint Healthcare Information Management and Technology program offered through the University of Wisconsin system. This person is also responsible for engaging in high-quality research, consistent with AACSB international accreditation standards and departmental expectations, and providing service at the department, college, and university levels.

Required Qualifications

Required qualifications include an earned Ph.D. (or equivalent) from an accredited university in MIS, IS, CIS or a closely related field; ABD will be considered. Degree must be earned by the personnel review held in the spring of the first year.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of effective teaching and research published in referred journals and/or presented at professional meetings. Additional areas of interest and expertise include business telecommunications/networking, security, data management, enterprise systems, cloud technology and/or data analytics. A RHIA certification will be considered positively.

- Preparation and teaching of nine credits (three courses) per semester when deemed scholarly active based on departmental/college research expectations (12 credits, 4 courses, if not deemed scholarly active).

- Advising of majors and minors in Information Systems programs.

- Advising student projects, independent studies, undergraduate research, and internship students when appropriate.

- Re-designing courses, developing new courses, contributing to interdisciplinary minors, and engaging in the development of new programs when appropriate
