Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The VCU Department of Psychology invites applicants to apply for the position of project coordinator. The project coordinator will be primarily involved with coordinating an NIMH R01 funded project entitled “Multi-level determinants of implementation and sustainment in the education sector”, although work on other research projects associated with a broader research program will also be associated with the position. The position works under Bryce D. McLeod, Ph.D., and Kevin Sutherland, Ph.D., and is to begin July 1st, 2021. Dr. McLeod and Sutherland’s research centers on the evaluation, implementation, and sustainment of evidence-based programs and practices for youth in school settings. The primary project is designed to identify teacher, intervention, and school-level factors that influence the implementation and sustainment of a Tier 2 intervention, BEST in CLASS, which targets the reduction of challenging behavior of young children at-risk for emotional/behavioral disorders.

Responsibilities include IRB submissions and modifications; data collection and management; observational coding; qualitative interviewing, management of data staff; and scholarly presentations and publications.

This full-time position requires a minimum of a two-year commitment.

The employee acknowledges that this position is grant-funded. The employee understands that the continuation of this position depends on the continuation of grant funding.

Minimum Hiring Standards

The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:
-an undergraduate degree in psychology, education, or related field; keen attention to detail;
-a demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU ;
-experience working with data and statistical databases (REDCap, SPSS, SAS );
-the ability to handle multiple responsibilities including daily tasks and planning for longer-term projects;
-strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
-the ability to work autonomously and within the structure of a large research team.

Preferred Hiring Standards Required Licenses/ Certifications Anticipated Hiring Range $30,500 to $32,000 Application Process/Additional Information
