ETS supports instructional technologies, audio/video equipment in classrooms and other spaces, multimedia creation, and distance learning technologies. Our services include administration of the learning management system (Brightspace) and providing support for a variety of instructional technology needs including blogging, video and audio recording, captioning and more.

Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is to design, develop, and deliver training and support for the integration of accessible instructional materials and technologies within teaching and learning, as well as assisting in the technology-based redesign of courses. This position also assists faculty in modeling, becoming proficient in, and applying instructional technology within their courses. This position also assists in administering the college’s learning management system, presents recommendations regarding course design, instructional technologies, accessibility and instructional delivery options.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

40% Support faculty in the use of instructional technology within teaching and learning including recommending technology options to enhance instructional methods. Provide technical consultation on the use of technologies such as videoconferencing applications, multimedia technologies (production, editing, and hosting), web design applications, and distance learning technologies. Conduct trainings and serve as an administrator for the learning management system (currently D2L Brightspace) as well as assist faculty in the use of equipment and software available in technology-based classrooms. Assist in researching and evaluating emerging instructional technologies or methods including remaining current in developments within the field through participation in continuing education opportunities. Develop and maintain communication and cooperation with instructional technology departments and other colleges and universities.

25% Develop on-going plans for faculty development in the areas of accessibility, universal design, and instructional technology. Research and present recommendations to the institution regarding accessible course design, technology, and instructional delivery options. Also participate in college-wide or TBR system-wide committees’/task forces as needed.

25% Assist faculty (1) by providing instructional design support in the development of accessible instructional materials and products for technology-based redesign of courses including stand-alone, instructor-led, blended, or online classroom use, (2) in selecting appropriate accessible technology based on best practices as well as state and federal accessibility laws and (3) in assessing effectiveness and efficiency of instruction based on course design best practices, instructional techniques, instructional technology use, and achievement of student learning outcomes.

10% Conduct needs assessments in order to prepare support documentation and training materials delivered to end users through blogs, websites, tutorials, videos, user guides, and presentations. Also provides after-hours instructional technology support when needed in order to respond to emergency issues such as a system wide outage.

Required Qualifications:

· Master’s degree from an accredited institution in educational technology, instructional technology, disability studies/services, education or related field required.

· Three years’ experience in providing instructional technology services/training including accessibility experience.

Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Skills/Abilities:

- Expressed thoughts clearly via written communication without grammatical and spelling errors.

- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.

- Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students.

- Able to provide faculty and staff support (remote & face-to-face).

- Able to interact and provide information to diverse individuals and groups.

- Takes initiative to complete tasks/projects with minimal supervision.

- Demonstrates commitment to lifelong learning in order to remain current in developments taking places in the areas of instructional technology, instructional design, and accessibility.

- Must be able to work on multiple project simultaneously, either independently or as part of a team.

- Must be able to analyze and prioritize tasks/projects.

- Must be able to meet deadlines.

Key Result Areas:

Successful training of faculty on creating accessible electronic course materials. Increased adoption of appropriate use of technology in instructional settings. Increasing and improving faculty skills related to using the learning management system.

Pay Rate: $53,400 - $66,630.00/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application. This is an exempt level position.
