Associate Dean - School of Health

Summary:
The College of Health and Public Service seeks applications for an outstanding Associate Dean to lead a growing School of Health. Come join a team that is making a difference in the lives of students and the community. Within the School of Health, the Nursing department recently expanded its lab space and cohort size, the Public Health department recently added a healthcare administration degree, the Allied Health Department (Dental Hygiene and Respiratory Therapy) continues to grow in demand, and a new Physician Assistant program will launch in Spring 2022. Under the general direction of the College Dean, the Associate Dean plays a critical role in providing leadership and strategic planning, academic and operational support for departments and programs, and deepening relations with healthcare and community partners for Utah Valley University's service area.

Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution in a discipline closely associated with those represented within the School of Health.

Achievement of tenure within a discipline of the School of Health and achieve rank of at least Associate Professor and three years of effective administrative experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of university and college policies.
  • Knowledge of the disciplines within the School of Health.
  • Knowledge of teaching methodologies and supervisory practices as they relate to professions within the School of Health.
  • Knowledge of professional credentials, specialized accreditation, and assessment.
  • Knowledge of technology-enhanced educational best practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a dual mission University.
  • Skill in curriculum and program planning and implementation.
  • Skill in program learning outcome assessment.
  • Skill in budget management.
  • Skill in the development and management of faculty rank and tenure process.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team supporting diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to conduct school strategic and long-range planning.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to guide and support faculty in the development of engaging learning activities.

Pay Range: $96,301 - $120,377
