Job Description
Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business is hiring a director of communications and marketing to help attract new students, engage with public and private partners, promote diversity and inclusion and inspire philanthropic support.

This individual must feel confident and comfortable working across a matrix organizational structure -- with internal and external stakeholders -- often taking the lead and sometimes serving in a supportive role with other communications personnel.
The director must have a strong record of progressive experience in communications, including evidence of strong writing and editing, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and marketing skills; proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and web content planning; an understanding of graphic design and branding principles; and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
The director reports jointly to the senior director for university relations and media outreach and the assistant dean for advancement in Pamplin.
