Haverford College invites applications for a full-time Fellowship in Digital Arts and Media for academic year 2021-22 to begin August, 15 2021.

Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome, including work in data visualization, sound studies, gaming, mapping, animation, and physical computing. Desirable teaching subfields might include environmental studies, visual studies, critical race theory, information and media studies, and/or gender and performance studies. The fellow will teach a total of two courses over the academic year (one each semester) and will organize one workshop with faculty, staff and students around their areas of expertise. In addition, fellows will have access to funding lines for their work and co-curricular programming, including small exhibits or symposia.

The fellow will be housed in the interdisciplinary VCAM (Visual Culture Arts and Media) building, the College's creative hub for students, faculty, staff, and the wider community. Home to Haverford's Visual Studies Program, the Haverford Innovations Program, and the John B. Hurford '60 Center for the Arts and Humanities, VCAM features a host of flexible spaces for teaching and making, including a Film/Media Edit Studio, Maker Arts Space, two Create Spaces, Artist Residency Studio, Object Study/Media Production Classroom, and exhibitions spaces.

The successful candidate will demonstrate readiness both to work with a diverse student body and to engage faculty, staff and community members on areas of media technology across the curriculum. We are particularly interested in candidates whose creative and scholarly practices will engage the spaces and resources of VCAM. A terminal degree in the field of study is expected by August 15, 2021.
