Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Office Assistant serves as primary receptionist for the University Learning Center ( ULC ). This position supports the Director, Assistant Director, and Coordinators and their student staff, and works collaboratively with two administrative associates. This position provides front desk coverage including directing incoming calls and e-mail, and responding to walk-in inquiries. The Office Assistant manages appointments (including scheduling input and messaging students) and tutoring space assignments, tracks student requests and course coverage, manages resource lists and maintains ULC textbook inventory (including ordering new textbooks), assists with data entry, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from high school required
One year experience in an office setting and/or reception work and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience required
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
Experience working in a higher education setting is preferred
Experience with MS office suite and TutorTrac software
Experience working with students
