Summary: The Director of Clinical Education will provide leadership in the development, design, implementation, and ongoing assessment of the clinical component of the Speech-Language Pathology curriculum. This position provides a unique opportunity to participate in the development of high-quality clinical education opportunities with the masters program at Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ). The Director of Clinical Education will be responsible for all aspects of clinical training. This includes the development and oversight of clinical programs supervised by MSJ faculty, establishing clinical community partners, coordination of external student clinical experiences, and managing the regulatory aspects of clinical placements and clinical requirements. The Director of Clinical Education will also chair the Clinical Committee and play a major role in preparing the Program for CAA accreditation.

The anticipated start date for this position is August 2022. Prior to this date, compensated consultation with the university may be possible.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Masters Degree in speech-language pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Current State of Ohio Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligible with a license obtained prior to the start of position)
  • Minimum of 10 years clinical experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative and effective problem-solving abilities
  • Previous clinical supervision experience
  • Interprofessional team participation
  • Working knowledge of CAA accreditation standards
  • Ability to travel for clinical site recruitment and oversight
  • Commitment to advancing the diversity, equity, and inclusion of the program and university


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing new assessment and/or treatment programs
  • Previous university-based supervision; this may include internal clinic supervision or external collaboration as a community-based supervisor
  • Clinical leadership experience, including managing professional teams
  • Clinical experience across the lifespan
  • Clinical experience across a variety of practice settings (e.g. hospitals, schools, private practice, skilled nursing facilities, and/or early intervention)
  • Experience with telehealth
  • A working knowledge of Calipso
