Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering Technology faculty position, beginning August 1, 2021.

 

The primary responsibilities for the position include teaching and service work with an emphasis on enhancing the teaching mission of the Department.

 

The appointment is for 9-months but has the possibility of teaching opportunities in the summer. The teaching load is nine courses per academic year (fall and spring semesters). Courses are taught on the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

 

Candidates must have earned a master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, engineering education, engineering management or a related field.

 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • An earned doctoral degree in engineering or closely related field, or its foreign equivalent.
  • The ideal candidate should have an area of specialization in engineering design graphics.
  • Expertise in mechanics, welding, machining, and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional Certification or better.
  • Industry experience and/or Professional Engineering license.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5-2018.
  • Knowledge of ASME-based best-practices for engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of GD&T interpretation.
  • Knowledge of tolerances and tolerance/ process relationships.
  • SolidWorks advanced certification in Weldments, Sheet Metal, Drawings, Customization, and Surfacing preferred.
  • Expertise in Top-down and Bottom-up design techniques.
  • College level teaching, and online teaching are pluses.
