Professional Mental Health Counselor
The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) provides confidential clinical counseling and consultation services to 1300 culturally diverse undergraduate and graduate students at Saint Martin’s University (SMU). The Professional Mental Health Counselor is responsible for assessment, treatment, care coordination and collaborative support services for students. They may also participate in supervision of graduate student interns, consultations for faculty and staff, and presentations to the campus community regarding college student mental health.
REQUIREMENTS AND/OR CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Required: Master’s degree in clinical counseling, clinical psychology, clinical social work OR PhD or PsyD.
- Required: Licensed in Washington state as mental health professional (LMHC, LMFT or LICSW) or Licensed Psychologist; Maintain license through continuing education hours as required for licensure, and provide documentation upon renewal; Chapter 18.225 RCW and Chapter 246-809 WAC. OR ability to obtain relevant license within six months of start date (there is some flexibility with this timeline, please consult with hiring manager if you have questions).
- Preferred: Experience in counseling within a college or university counseling center with a diverse student population is highly desirable.
