Bennington College seeks an engaging and highly organized professional to manage the administrative aspects of the Human Resources Office. The Coordinator also serves as a dependable and trusted partner - providing support to employees and the Human Resources team on matters that contribute to and impact our employees' work experience.

The Human Resources Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries to the Human Resources Office and is responsible for creating a welcoming and engaging experience for employees, visitors and guests. The Coordinator handles a range of administrative tasks including: reception, triaging/directing inquiries, calendar management, organizing meetings/interviews, HR database maintenance and reporting, recruitment activities (scheduling interviews, advertising), managing onboarding/offboarding processes, research and maintaining personnel files; generally, keeping a pulse on all activities within the office. The position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

The ideal candidate will be meticulously organized and incredibly nimble - able to successfully guide people and projects in a fast-paced, small team environment. The assistant must be an effective communicator, an adept and tactical scheduler, and an agile multi-tasker. The work is best suited for someone who thrives on follow-up and follow-through - a resourceful, calm-under-pressure, natural listmaker; an individual who is always thinking about how work/projects intersect (and makes those connections!) and thoughtfully considers how to leverage technology effectively so that we can do our best work. The capacity for clear, thoughtful communication and an eagle eye for detail are crucial. The position requires the ability to prioritize competing work and deadlines while producing accurate work and an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

The position requires demonstrated 1-5 years' administrative experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment; bachelor's degree and human resources experience preferred. Candidates must have experience working with diverse populations and evidence a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Additionally, candidates must be creative problem-solvers and possess excellent communication skills - able to build relationships and develop partnerships across all areas and levels of the College. The position requires exemplary organizational skills, remarkable attention to detail and a strong technology orientation/proficiency using Gmail, Google Drive, Excel; Human Resources Information System experience preferred (ADP Workforce Now and eTIME). This position requires successful completion and acceptable results of a background check.
