Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Psychology, to begin Fall 2021. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona, campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow’s aviation, aerospace, security, and intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages are 80°F in the summer and 45°F in the winter. A qualified candidate will have expertise in Experimental, Behavioral, or Cognitive Psychology through doctoral training and at least one of the following: research and/or practice experience. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the psychology programs, with duties that include teaching courses in the department curricula, developing a research program, and participating in professional, department, campus, and university service activities.

The Behavioral & Social Sciences Department at ERAU has three distinct, rapidly growing Bachelor of Science programs in Forensic Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and Human Factors Psychology. Faculty enthusiastically mentor and advise undergraduate students in research, professional development, internships, and career trajectories. The department and its current faculty are committed to the scientist-practitioner approach to education and working side-by-side with students on research and industry collaborations. Qualifications

The candidate will work with our team of psychology faculty in supporting the success and growth of our undergraduate programs. An interest in leading scholarly activities that involve undergraduate students in research, grant proposals, or industry collaboration is ideal. Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduate students is expected. Practical or industry experience is valued.

The outstanding candidate will have a doctoral degree in psychology or closely related discipline with college-level teaching experience. Candidates with degrees in Experimental Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology or related areas are of greatest interest. Candidates who have a demonstrated ability to teach a wide array of psychology core courses (e.g., physiological, cognitive, and social psychology; statistics; research methods) will be given priority.
