Job Description

The Next-Generation ERAU Applied Research (NEAR) lab, located within the Center for Aerospace Resilience, is a research and development (R&D) facility working with the aerospace and aviation industries on proof of concept, rapid prototyping, quality assurance, modeling and simulation, data mining, and various other related R&D projects. We are looking for a software engineer to help us contribute to the future of the aviation and aerospace.


Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with all phases of software development life-cycle
  • Programming experience with C, C++, JAVA
  • Hardware and software experience in developing small embedded systems
  • Ability to work as part of a team, provide feedback, define goals, and deliver on a schedule
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new technologies as needed
  • Ability to embrace and apply core tenets of agile software development
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to overcome challenges
  • Comfortable interacting with team members and industry partners over remote meeting software, messaging systems, email, issue trackers, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Typescript, NodeJS, React
  • Comfortable with using Git and repo service providers such as Gitlab and GitHub
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid-cloud services
