Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an Associate Registrar. Under the guidance of the Registrar, the Associate Registrar is the lead for academic evaluations for pre-applicant, incoming and active students on the Daytona Beach campus. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the academic credit evaluation and degree conferral process, interfacing with faculty on curriculum and academic evaluation issues, assisting in course catalog maintenance, and contributing to NCAA student athlete certification. Utilizing good oral and written communication skills, this position is expected to independently oversee the above-listed processes and personnel and suggest improvements to business processes and opportunities for enhancement through automated and paperless processing, as well as to keep the Registrar informed of changes in federal or state regulations and industry best practices which may affect the department and/or campus.

The Associate Registrar supervises assigned staff; creates and monitors workload benchmarks for direct reports; conducts internal audits to verify accuracy of student records and productivity of staff; and maintains effective and efficient business processes in area of responsibility so work backlog is minimal. This position provides training for department staff and other university staff in the effective use of course equivalencies functionality within the Student Information System, and tasks associated with this position. This position supports excellence in student services at every opportunity.

The person in this position is expected to increase student services and efficiencies in all listed functions, including streamlining the credit evaluation process from admissions to graduation to provide a seamless evaluation process. This position oversees the entire transfer credit process and maintains articulation agreements and course equivalency guides for academic evaluation and transfer processing. This person also collaborates to create efficiencies and standardization of course evaluation between the three ERAU campuses: Daytona Beach, Prescott, and Worldwide.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree. In lieu of a Master's degree, a combination of a Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of related work experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience at an institution of higher education or similar business.

  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise systems with ability to diagnose issues from a systems perspective and design strategies that fix the system.

  • Strong leadership skills to effectively lead employees to achieve peak performance goals, recognize need for training to improve performance and implement an improvement plan.

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate program needs and design solutions, take initiative and be a proactive member of the management team, with excellent follow-through to achieve the desired results.

  • Ability to think critically, analyze and design resolutions to complex issues/problems, and effectively communicate to all stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.

  • Proven interpersonal skills and customer service mindset with emphasis on improving the student experience.

  • Excellent written, oral communication and public speaking skills to lead staff in a positive and supportive manner.

  • Dependable and a self-starter with a strong work ethic that can complete tasks independently with flexibility and collaborate in a team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to address issues thoroughly and to full resolution for students and staff.

  • Experience with academic record keeping.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of flight and FAA ratings.

  • Registrar Office experience in a multi-campus environment.

  • Prior experience with PeopleSoft, Courseleaf, and EAB Transfer Portal.
