Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow / Senior Research Assistant in Learning and Assessment for Digital Citizenship (several posts) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 504250), to commence as soon as possible until March 31, 2022.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or a higher degree in Education, Social Sciences or a related discipline, and experience in analyzing survey and/or assessment/qualitative data. Familiarity with the literature on digital literacy, factors at the student, home and school levels influencing educational achievement, cognitive and/or sociological aspects of growing up in a digital environment, and/or large-scale research studies are clear advantages. Preference will be given to those with experience in managing and analyzing quantitative research data using advanced statistical methods, such as multiple linear regression, structural equation modeling, mediation analysis, multilevel modeling, and/or latent variable models. Good organizational skills and the ability to work on a tight schedule are essential to succeed in this role. They should also have a high level of writing proficiency in English and demonstrated ability in writing up research findings for both academic and general audiences, and be self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently and within a team. Applicants with a Ph.D. degree may be considered for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow. Those with other higher degrees and substantial research experience in relevant areas may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant.

The appointees will work under the supervision of Professor Nancy Law on the project "Learning and Assessment for Digital Citizenship" funded by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council under the Theme-Based Research Scheme, and assist the project team in the management of assessment and survey data, analysis of large-scale quantitative data, writing of research reports and papers, and dissemination of the research findings. They will also assist in day-to-day tasks and perform other duties as assigned. The appointees with project administrative and coordination experiences will have the opportunity to contribute to the project management, including the coordination of project events.
