Curry Health Center invites applications for a Mid-Level Provider to join their team. The physician assistant or nurse practitioner is an experienced, independent clinician who is able to thrive in a team environment. The clinician is: comfortable and competent with the use of an electronic health record; exercises excellent clinical judgment; has experience with a range of patient ages, with significant experience with a college age population; and has a high level of comfort and experience providing mental health care. The clinician will practice evidence-based medicine, and be experienced in both acute and chronic health care.

While this position does not directly supervise employees, it does assist in training and mentoring of students in clinical training programs, to include pharmacy students and ATC students. It requires an ability to bring together and maintain effective workgroups, promote cooperation and contribute to building of an environment of trust. The clinician has excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrates maturity, tact and professionalism in decision making and takes responsibility for their actions. In addition, clinic committee participation and/or leadership roles may be required.

Required Skills
  • Experience providing care for college age patients and be proficient in the use of an electronic health record
  • Experienced in both acute and chronic care and have a high level of comfort, experience, and proficiency in providing mental health care
  • Flexible to work the schedule assigned that meets the needs of the clinic

Minimum Required Experience
  • Licensed to practice as a physician assistant (PA) or a nurse practitioner (NP) in the state of Montana with prescriptive authority authorized by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and a minimum of two years of experience working as a clinician in a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner role
  • Curry Health Center (CHC) strongly encourages all employees to be current with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations on immunizations for Health Care Worker (HCW). This will ensure a safe work environment for our employees as well as our patients. The employees who have not been vaccinated will not be able to work if an outbreak occurs.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in young adult settings, a college health setting, knowledge of electronic health records, third party accreditation standards, and public health approaches to maintaining and improving community health

Position Details

Position Title: Mid-Level Provider

Department: Curry Health Center

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 10 months/year, summer hours are required.

Salary: $42/hr . – not eligible for overtime.

Union Affiliation: None

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
