Biology Department, Instructor, Teaching Track Gannon University's Biology Department seeks a 12-month, non-tenure/teaching track faculty Instructor to begin August 2021. Gannon University's teaching track faculty work collaboratively with colleagues, deliver instruction, advise students, seek professional development, and participate in service. Specifically, we are seeking a biologist with expertise and teaching experience in Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology for nursing students and other related health science majors; introductory biology courses with labs for science majors, taught may also be assigned. The position is expected to teach 27 credit hours in the academic year (including summer) or as otherwise specified by the faculty member's appointment notice. Teaching experience in these fields is preferred. Requirements include an earned master's degree (M.S., M.Ed.) and/or a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD) in biology or related field. Candidate's must display effective interpersonal and written and oral communication skills and an ability to be an effective team member. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions. Candidates must be able to meet the physical and technical demands of busy office, classroom, and laboratory settings. Individuals with experience teaching and evidence of teaching effectiveness in higher education are preferred. Gannon University is located in the heart of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania, along the shores of Lake Erie. Erie is a regional tourist destination boasting 11 beaches, a wide variety of seasonal activities, professional sports teams, a professional symphony, multiple venues for live theater and music, and many other entertainment options.
